department of revenue: motor division
coloradoan tailgaters
this weather (getting 2 hours of rain EVERYDAY around 2pm)
georgia fire that we think might be causing this weather
people who cut in lines even if they have numbers

things that i love:

california DMV (THANK YOU for faxing DOR my interim license)
coloradoan drivers who slow down to let me in
colorado when the weather is nice
DOR workers who check the numbers of people who try to cut in line and send them to the end of the line
paul in class As
long story short... we thought paul's wallet was stolen. we canceled all the credit cards. then my wallet got stolen. then while i was looking for my stolen wallet, we found paul's wallet. it all worked out in the end. lol

other names

girl- takeko (my grandpa and grandma's name put together)
we decided on Jake because paul's grandpa's name was Jack... and they both start with J. Masashi is taken from both our fathers... paul's dad is masaji and my dad is shinji. Lilia starts with an L like paul's mom Lois and i liked names that had lily in it. shizumi comes from both our mothers shizue is paul's mom's middle name and Midori is my mom's name.

also i picked names for our second son or daughter but i have yet to bring it to the man (haha.)

Tomas Kouji Yoshimoto
(the T is from paul's grandpa's japanese name- tamotsu and my grandpa's name- takeo and my grandpa's name is kouji, my dad's name is shinji and paul's dad's middle name is masaji paul's middle name is kenji... see the pattern??)
Makenna Kazue Yoshimoto (maKENna for kenji - paul's middle name and uncle kenny and cousin kenny... kazue is from paul's grandpa kazuo, my grandma kazuko and paul's mom shizue).

The best advice I have ever been given, is what I continue to share with parents to this day: Trust yourself!

You are born with the skills to be a great parent. You will spend 24 hours a day with your child and will know her better than anyone else (including well meaning grandparents). And, yes, you will know when something is wrong with your child. You may not know what the diagnosis is, but something inside of you will prompt you to call the doctor or seek medical care.

It’s kind of like Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. She was wearing the ruby slippers the whole time but never realized they had the power to take her home. New parents also wear those ruby slippers. Trust your gut, and you will never feel like you have made a mistake.

our katie is having a little problem. because of her previous owners she doesn't go bathroom while we are around her at all. someone suggested that she might have been punished for going in the wrong places, so she thinks going potty is a negative thing. at this moment she hasn't gone to the bathroom for over 24 hours. i really worry about her. i wish she would do it inside or out. because she doesn't go she doesn't have much of an appetite either.
