i don't know if any of you guys know but there is a fight we are fighting right now in congress, and i affects the internet as we know it.

the internet was founded on the principle that all sites can be accessed equally without bias. its called net neutrality. even if you are huge like yahoo, or an average joe like myself... i could create a site and anyone would be able to access it without any difference in connectivity. it basically has been the very reason that the world wide web has grown into a massive entity.

big telecommunication companies such as AT&T and bellsouth are lobbying to create a 2 tier internet. it means even if we do have a fast connection to the internet, we might have trouble connecting to certain sites that we want to see because the owner of the site does not have the money to pay for it... but this is ONLY the beginning.

if we do deregulate the internet, it means that the if telecommunication companies can even RESTRICT connections to some sites that they might not want you to see by degrading the connection... just because they can!

and here is some even MORE bad news... this bill has PASSED the HOUSE OF REPS... and is moving to the senate to be voted on!
